introducing THE cantera: TALENT identification, development, collaboration, & opportunity powered BY VANCOUVER FC
The Vancouver FC Cantera offers an exclusive opportunity for young soccer players to hone their skills under the guidance of experienced Vancouver FC coaches. The Cantera aims to identify and nurture young players while supplementing their ongoing football development at their home clubs.
Cantera, meaning "quarry" in Spanish, is a term used by many clubs in Spain to philosophically guide their youth development strategies.
The Cantera philosophy generally contains 2 main aspects:
Geographic Area
Human Potential
The essence of the idea is to work collaboratively with the raw resource that is a group of players and clubs within a defined region in order to enhance, refine, develop, and maximize it.
